CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, June 25 (PIA) - Hundreds of scholars from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Isabela recently participated in the tree-planting activity initiated by TESDA here.
Demetrio Anduyan, TESDA-Isabela head, said the tree planting is a component of TESDA's "Nature Caregiver" project which started last year.
He said the projects aims to encourage all scholars of the agency to plant at least one tree as contribution in addressing environmental concerns such as global warming, soil erosion, air pollution, among others.
"This is in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Department of Agriculture (DA)," Anduyan said.
Anduyan further said that the project is also a gesture of appreciation of the scholars to the support they received from the government particularlyTESDA.
He said at least 1,905 tree seedlings were planted during the one-day simultaneous tree planting activity in various planting sites in the province. (ALM/MGE/PIA-2 Isabela)
