Researchers urged to adapt to changing technologies, environment

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Nov 14 (PIA) -Philippine Association of Research Management, Inc. (PHILARM) challenges all their members to sustain the value of research with PHILARM tradition.

PHILARM annually organizes a convention to encourage its members, researchers, and research extension managers to promote and share their lessons and best practices in managing Research, Development and Extension (RDE) programs and research institutions.

Moreover, PHILARM in collaboration with Philippine Association of State Universities Region IX (PASUC) and Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) conducted the 4th International RDE Management Congress and 29th National PHILARM Convention in Zamboanga City from November 13-15, 2019 with approximately 500 participants from all over the country.

The congress this year aims to further enhance the RDE managers, to build international partnerships towards strengthening climate change resiliency and disaster risk management through RDE in the ASEAN Countries.

Dr. Merian Mani, President of PHILARM advises the participants and all members of the association to continuously develop researches "be ready for the bigger obstacles due to fast changing technologies and millennial researchers," Dr. Mani highlighted.

Furthermore, Dr. Mani also added that PHILARM will continue to invest in training their people and colleagues to be able to transform circumstances into opportunities. She also encourages researchers to be motivated and make research innovations by being mindful and having the right mindset. "Know your strengths, look around to what the world can offer us and make big dreams," she advises.

PHILARM is a private, non-stock, non-profit professional organization in the Philippines composed of members for different sectors of the society which is engaged in the development, promotion, and enhancement of the role of the research managers in improving and sustaining productivity in research.
